The flag was adopted on 3 March 1992 at the 8th session of the Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament). 5 March 1992 was raised first time above Parliament House. The red background of the flag symbolizes bravery, the sun represents peace and wealth, and the tyundyuk signifies fatherland and the universe in general.
State Symbol: mountainous eagle symbolizes bounty and vigilance, high thoughts of kyrgyzstanis, living in the country of mountains. Waters of lake - symbol of natural beauty, source of life and energy. Was adopted 14 January 1994 on Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament) session.
