Summary |
Studies
are dedicated to water saving issue by means of forced cotton
irrigation on large checks without slopes in conditions
of plain part of Amudarya lower reaches, significantly reducing
irrigation duration, as well as to development of recommendations
for production. Climate is continental. Relief is plain.
Soils - medium saline. Ground water table is 1.5-3.2 m,
salinity degree is high (6-15 g/1). EPP area is 160 ha.
On EPP 3 lines of field sprinklers in earthen channel and
4 lines of closed horizontal drainage. Forced cotton irrigation
on lands of Karakalpakstan without slopes gave possibility
to achieve high irrigation water use efficiency as well
as reduce twice cotton irrigation duration under high water
discharge in checks. Because of vertical filtration volume
reduction immediate water table rising doesn't occur. Uniformity
of soil humidity is achieved along length of furrows, irrigation
norms and depths, and irrigators labor as well as ground
water pollution with applied fertilizers are reduced. Practical
recommendations for production are given. |
