Summary

Research was directed to soil water-salt regime management strengthening on background of different types of drainage; irrigation    water    use    improvement    and    recommendations development on technical decisions correction. Climate is continental. Soils: sandy loam, loam, clay often with high salt content. Ground water table is below 5m, salinity -10-16g/l sulfate-chloride and chloride- sulfate. Irrigated area is 96423ha. Irrigation network: concrete flumes (efficiency 0.96-0.98). Inter-state network is lined by concrete (efficiency 0.96-0.97). Average specific length 22m/ha and lined canals-2.5m/ha. Water supply is provided from Karshi main and Ulyanov canals. Drainage network is presented by vertical, horizontal subsurface and combined drainage. There are 65 vertical drains from 136 planned. Subsurface drainage length is 1348km, depth-3-3.5m. spacing-200-250m. Farm is equipped by means of water and salt account. Set of recommendations has been developed on soil water-salt regime management under land development. Proposals are given on technical decisions correction.
