Summary

Study is devoted to definition of water balance elements dynamics under different irrigation technique, ground water contribution to water consumption through lyzimeters and cotton and maize yield losses in different phase of plant development due to water stress, water   expenses   under   sprinkler   and   furrow   irrigation   and development of scientifically based water consumption norm. Plot is located in Tashkent oblast 20km from Tashkent to northwest. Climate is continental. Relief is hilly with slope to south-west. Soils are typical serozems, non-saline and made of medium loam. Ground water level is deep (20-30m). Area is 18ha. Irrigation canals are earthen. Water supply is performed through tubes with water level automatic regulation. Plot is equipped by all means of measurement and heat balance. Cotton irrigation was made by furrow and sprinkler irrigation. Study allowed to define cotton and maize water consumption under furrow and sprinkler irrigation. Lyzimeters   allowed   to   determine   cotton   and   maize   water consumption depending on phase of plant development and ground water depth, water stress impact on cotton yield.

Key words
