Moscow authorities have decided to help citizens to survive the heat. Cultural institutions and public parks will create specially equipped recreation areas and, which is most important, provide the citizens and guests of the capital with drinking water.
Personnel of theatres and other places of culture and leisure was recommended to create relax-zones, equipped with fans and air conditioners. Parks are to make sheltered areas to stay in shade. Moreover, places of free water distribution will be organized in green zones, and drinking fountains will work in the largest parks.
The most enthusiastic was the Sokolniki park, where the machine for making cool artificial fog started working in the local rose garden. Number of spinkling machine runs was doubled, the lawns are irrigated more often. In «North Tushino» and «Fili» parks visitors can not only lie on the beach, but swim in the pool and even take a shower in shower cabines which were specially installed because of the heat.
