About the Partner

ITC

The principal objective of ITC is to build capacities in the water sector through training, retraining, and upgrading skills in management and supervision related to hydraulic structure safety.

Its scope of activity includes:

  • assistance in addressing urgent hydraulic structure safety issues;
  • strengthening international cooperation in safe operation of hydraulic structures;
  • support to UNECE, EC IFAS, and GIZ programs related to safety in the Aral Sea basin;
  • training personnel in emergency prevention and response;
  • development of training curricula on monitoring and control of hydraulic structure safety;
  • development of regional and international programs and projects on water and hydraulic structure safety;
  • contribution to regulations and laws related to hydraulic structure safety;
  • development of monitoring equipment, educational materials, and organization of conferences, trainings, and workshops.
The Director of the Center is the coordinator of the Platform and helps mobilize financial and other support for its activities.
