KYRGYZSTAN, TAJIKISTAN, AFGHANISTAN, PAKISTAN INK MEMO ON ENERGY DEVELOPMENT

The governments of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan have inked a memorandum on the energy market development in these countries.

The memorandum was signed in Dushanbe "in order to strengthen the regional co-operation between Central Asian countries in the energy sector."

The memorandum on understanding at the initial phase suggests creation of a power transmission system from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan to Pakistan through Afghanistan and corresponding organising measures for the trade in energy.
