THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION SATISFIED WITH COOPERATION WITH THE KYRGYZ REPUBLIC
The KR Government has successfully fulfilled all conditions of the Food Safety Program for accordance of the first fixed grant of the European Commission. The EC is expected to provide 4,5 million euro by the end of the third quarter of 2005.
Final session of the Management Committee of the “Food Safety in Kyrgyzstan» Program on results of the Food Safety Program Survey Mission for 2005-2006 was held in Bishkek.
During the speeches, mutual satisfaction with the program implementation process was noted by the parties, as well as with productiveness of the bilateral cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and European Commission. The Mission head Mr. German Urrea submitted his report on results of the Food Safety Program Survey Mission for 2005-2006. In particular, it was noted that the KR Government has fulfilled all terms of the Food Safety Program for accordance of the first fixed grant of the European Commission, including the IMF Program for Poverty Alleviation, and 3 fulfillment of conditions offered by the EC.
The mission representatives suppose that all the indicators have been successfully implemented by the KR Government, thus, the Mission will suggest payment of the first fixed grant valued at 4,5 million in full amount.
The parties will make maximum efforts towards in-time signing of the financial agreement and allotment of the funds by the end of third quarter of this year.
