A new multi-function water reservoir with the capacity of 1 million cubic meters of water and surface area of 250 thousand square meters was erected in the village of Ak Bugday near Ashgabat. As the Turkmenistan.ru correspondent reports, the new water reservoir for the eastern water treatment facilities owned by the drinking water plant “Gundogar” was built on the order of the Ashgabat Municipality.
A man-made lake is designed not only for storage of water, but also for settlement and cleaning of water until it becomes transparent.
Water comes to the reservoir from the Karakum river through the 240 m long feeding channel, and after settling and clarification it falls into a water receiver. Then, water is fed to the drinking water plant, where it is further cleaned before it enters the city's distribution network.
According to specialists of the plant “Gundogar”, the new hydraulic cleaner will further improve the supply of clean drinking water to residents of Ashgabat
