THE WATER VOLUME AT THE TOKTOGUL RESERVOIR
The water volume at the Toktogul reservoir presently makes 8 billion 37 million cubic meters. Minister of industry, energy and fuel resources of Kyrgyzstan Ilyas Davydov told it at a governmental meeting.
He told the water volume in 2008 made up 10 billion 302 million cubic meters.
According to him, the water inflow at the reservoir as of January 12, 2009 made up 158 cumic meters and outflow 448 cubic meters per a second. Last year, the water inflow made up 116 cubic meters, outflow – 803 cubic meters.

KAZAKHSTAN HAS ENOUGH ENERGY RESERVE CAPACITY: MINISTER OF ENERGY AND MINERAL RESOURCES
“At present, the country's energy reserves have sufficient capacity due to reduction in electricity consumption by large enterprises of the republic". Kazakh Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sauat Mynbayev has said today at the telephone conference of the Government, Kazinform reports.
“In accordance with the data, generation of electricity increased by 4.8% in 2008, comparing to 2007 and amounted to 80.5 bln kilowatt per hour. Consumption amounted to 80.6 bln kilowatt per hour”, S.Mynbayev said.
But he noted that "the last two months of 2008, electricity consumption has decreased" due to reduction in energy consumption by large enterprises.
In general, according to the Head of the Ministry, Kazakhstan has certain reserves of electricity.
