TAJIKISTAN SUGGESTED UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO DISCUSS THE ENERGY ISSUES

18 UN member state, including Tajikistan addressed the Chairman of the General Assembly with a request to discuss energy saving and energy efficiency issues, as well as problems of altenative and renewable energy sources. They suggested to hold thematic discussions of these important energy and environment issues during the 63 session of the General Assembly. The letter notes that energy saving and alternative renewable energy sources play a key role in achieving the Millenium Development Goals and addressing the climate change.

As NIAT Khovar reported, authors of the initiative at the UN News Center emphasized that General Assembly as the main discussion and coordination body was best suited for expanding awareness, exchange of best practices and promoting international discussions devoted to dealing with these problems.

WATER IN DUSHANBE CLEANER AND TASTIER NOW

The quality of water has significantly improved in Dushanbe since the launch of a daily runoff pond. According to the PR specialist of Dushanbevodokanal, Akobir Ashurov, not only the area of pond has been increased to 270 thousand cubic meters per day, but also a full reconstruction of the infrastructure has been undertaken.

Treatment of water is done through chlorination and adding coagulants bought from Kazakhstan that are safe for human health. Meanwhile, specialists of Dushanbevodokanal continue water meters in organizations and houses in the capital. Whether the residents of Dushanbe like or not , we will be installing these equipments. This is needed for the economy of water and a family budget. We cannot waste water any longer as water resources are scarce, specialist of municipal water supply organization said.

Dushanbevodokanal calls all water consumers for efficient and economic use of drinking water and timely payment for it.
