It is recommended that a consortium be created of parties that are leading/interesting in the items as outlined above. Potential members of such a consortium would have to be invited for an initial meeting. A where required amended version of this concept note could be used as a start for debate and to develop a joint program, making use of each ones background, skills and interest. Potential members could be:
- FAO/IPTRID;
- International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage (ICID);
- International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD);
- Sustainable Agriculture Initiative (SAI);
- Farmers association(s);
- Association(s) of agricultural producers;
- Representatives of governments of each group of countries (developed, emerging, least developed);
- International Water Management Institute (IWMI);
- International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI);
- Representative(s), World Bank, AFDB, ADB;
- Representative European Union.
